First Achievement of ENGSoft

The first achievement of ENGSoft Inc. is the development of a source software program for compressible flow analysis of all kind of steam including the flashing mixture of saturated water.

In power plants, there are several piping systems which require the compressible flow analysis of steam or flashing saturated water, such as safety valve vent stack, temporary blow-out piping, cascade heater drain piping, etc.   Conventional analysis procedures currently available to power engineers are basically based on the theories of ideal gas, but with various experimental equations for the deviation of steam or saturated water behavior from ideal gas.   Since the behaviors among superheated steam, saturated steam and saturated water are different, the conventional procedures normally use different experimental equations even for same fluid dynamic process and thereby are complicated.

The source program developed by ENGSoft Inc. are unique and straight-forward because it is based on basic fluid dynamic theories for analyzing methods together with steam table for fluid properties.   Therefore the source program is sound in the theories applied and can be applied without any correction to all kind of steam including the flashing mixture of saturated water.   The effectiveness of the source program has been verified via comparison with the calculation results of conventional methods provided in various technical papers.    ES_StmNzl software is to test the effectiveness of steam nozzle analysis procedure while E_StmPipe is for steam pipe analysis procedure.   Both test softwares of public beta test version have been uploaded in this web site for free download.

Using the unique source program. ENGSoft Inc. has developed the engineering softwares for the analysis of safety valve vent stack(ES_SVVent), temporary blow-out piping(ES_BlowOut) and cascade heater drain piping(ES_CasDrain), and uploaded the public beta test versions in this web site for free download.   The effectiveness of the softwares have been proved via comparison with the calculation results provided in relevant technical papers.   The comparison tables have been included at the end of user manual respective to each software.

In addition to the softwares described above, a pressure drop calculation software of single route piping(ES_dPCalc) has been developed and uploaded in this web site for free download.   Several small softwares such as steam table program(ES_Stable), unit conversion program(ES_UnitCvt) and pipe selection program(ES_Psel) are also uploaded for free download.
