Turbine Tab

This tab is for input of turbine design conditions for Design Heat Balance.

The input of this tab is automatically reflected to the relevant text boxes of "Graphic" tab.

 

IP Turbine Exhaust Press text box

To input IP turbine exhaust pressure, If the number of condensing flows of reheat turbine is greater than single flow.   ES_Rankine assumes that reheat turbine consists of IP turbine and LP turbine, if the condensing flows are greater than single flow.    Selection of condensing flows of LP turbine is to be selected in the "Last Stage" tab.

In the industry, around 10 bara pressure is generally used as the IP turbine exhaust pressure.

If the condensing flow is single flow, this text box is inactivated.

 

Pressure Drop at LPT Crossover Pipe text box

To input pressure drop at LPT(LP Turbine) crossover pipe between IP turbine and LP turbine, if condensing flows of reheat turbine are greater than 2 flows.

If the condensing flow is single flow, this text box is inactivated.

 

Minimum Pressure Ratio of Stage text box

To input the minimum pressure ratio of one stage.   If the ratio of adjacent bleeding pressure of turbine is less than this minimum pressure ratio, a warning message pops up for correction.

In case of nozzle, pressure ratio is defined by outlet pressure over inlet pressure.   However, in steam turbine industry, turbine stage pressure ratio is defined by inlet pressure over outlet pressure.    Generally this minimum pressure ratio is 1.2.

 

Manufacturer's Margin for Output text box

To input margin for calculating the generator output to be shown in the text or graphic output from the calculated generator output.

For example, if User wants the generator output in text output as 99 MW, while the calculated generator output is 100 MW, then input 1% for this margin.

This function is provided for User to change the calculated generator output arbitrarily.

 

Gland Steam and Inlet Valve Leak-off Steam

Please note that the gland steam and inlet valve leak-off steam of turbine is automatically calculated without User's input.
