BFPT Tab

This tab is for selection and input of operation conditions for Make-up Water, BFP Driving Turbine, Aux. Steam(1) and Aux. Steam(2) of Operation Heat Balance.

In order to simulate operation of BFP Driving Turbine in Operation Heat Balance, BFP Driving Turbine should be selected in "Aux(1)" tab of DESIGN window.   Same should be done for Aux. Steam(1) and Aux. Steam(2).   Selection should be done first in DESIGN window for application in Operation Heat Balance.

Steam sources for BFP Driving Turbine, Aux. Steam(1) and Aux. Steam(2) of Operation Heat Balance may be different from those of Design Heat Balance.

Operation Heat Balances show how the turbine cycle operates, when the turbine cycle is designed according to a Design Heat Balance.

The base Design Heat Balance is the lately run of the Design Heat Balance shown currently in "Design" combo box, regardless the lately run is List Updated or not.  Therefore, it is recommended to "Update List" and save the file of the base Design Heat Balance prior to Operation Heat Balance run.

 

Make-up Water text box

To input the make-up water flow rate to condenser in percentage of (HP) turbine inlet steam flow of Operation Heat Balance.

If there is mass loss out of turbine cycle like boiler blow-down, make-up water is required to make turbine cycle mass balanced.

 

BFP Driving Turbine exhausting to Condenser --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This function can be used in Operation Heat Balance, once the "Turbine Driven BFP" in the "Aux(1)" tab of DESIGN window.

It is assumed that the exhaust steam of BFP driving turbine is discharged into main condenser.

 

Driving Steam Source combo box

To select the steam source of BFP driving steam turbine in Operation Heat Balance.

Selection list includes main steam line, cold reheat line and LP crossover line as well as the bleeding lines for all feed water heaters.

 

Turbine Wheel Eff. Input by User, Turbine Mech. Eff. Input by User text boxes

To select the method of efficiency calculation for BFP driving steam turbine in Operation Heat Balance.   

If User checks this check box, then "Turbine Mech. Eff." as well as "Turbine Wheel Eff." should be input by User.

 

Aux. Steam(1) Supply to ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This function can be used in Operation Heat Balance, once the "Aux. Steam(1) Supply to" in the "Aux(1)" tab of DESIGN window has been selected.

The title of Aux. Steam(1) user of Design Heat Balance shall be used in Operation Heat Balance as it is.

Condensate Receiver shall be same with that of Design Heat Balance.

To select the steam source of Aux. Steam(1) for Operation Heat Balance.

Steam Supply Flow Rate text box

To input flow rate of Aux. Steam(1) to be supplied to an external user in Operation Heat Balance.

 

Condensate Return Ratio text box

To input the condensate return ratio of Aux. Steam(1) for Operation Heat Balance.   

The flow not returned as condensate is assumed to be supplemented as condenser make-up water to the turbine cycle.

 

Condensate Return Temperature text box

To input the condensate return temperature of Aux. Steam(1) for Operation Heat Balance.   

 It is assumed that the enthalpy of return condensate is saturation water enthalpy at the return temperature.

 

Aux. Steam(2) Supply to ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This function can be used in Operation Heat Balance, once the "Aux. Steam(2) Supply to" in the "Aux(2)" tab of DESIGN window has been selected.

The title of Aux. Steam(2) user of Design Heat Balance shall be used in Operation Heat Balance as it is.

Condensate Receiver shall be same with that of Design Heat Balance.

To input the condensate return temperature of Aux. Steam(2) for Operation Heat Balance.   

 It is assumed that the enthalpy of return condensate is saturation water enthalpy at the return temperature.
